Vraalstad 39.74 West Disinfecting Co. 2200 $8 October 2, 1950 Hearings - Proposed ,Vater Main Extensions, and Grading Pursuant to notice published in the St. Louis Park Dispatch September 13 and 20, 1950, separate hearings were had on the following proposed water main extensions, and grading ----- Watermain P-221 Texas Avenue from Minnetonka Boulevard to 28th Street Virginia Avenue from Minnetonka Boulevard to 28th St. Round Top Drive from Virginia Avenue to Virginia.Ave. Minnetonka Boulevard from Utah Avenue to Virginia Ave. P-250 Cambridge Street from Dakota Avenue to Edgewood Ave. Louisiana Avenue from 26th St. to 28th Street Westridge Lane from Parkwoods Road to South End Grading P-251 Texas Avenue from Minnetonka Boulevard to West 28th St. West 28th Street from Texas Avenue West to Great Northern Railroad R/W. No one appeared. Resolution On motion of Trustee Bolmgren, seconded by Trustee Jorvig, the following resolution was adopted by unanimous vote of Council Members present: RESOLUTION ORDERING WATER*MAIN EXTENSIONS AND STREET GRADING WHEREAS, the Village Council has met at the time and place specified in a notice published in the St. Louis Park Dispatch September 13 and 20, 1950, and held a public hearing on proposed water main improvements Nos. P-221 and P-250, and no one appearing, therefore BE IT RESOLVED by the Village Council of the Village of St. Louis Park that the following water main extensions be hereby ordered: P-221 Texas Avenue from'Minnetonka Boulevard to 28th Street Virginia Avenue from Minnetonka Boulevard to 28th St. Round Top Drive from Virginia Avenue to Virginia Avenue Minnetonka Boulevard from Utah Avenue to Virginia Ave. P-250 Cambridge Street from Dakota Avenue to Edgewood Avenue Louisiana Avenue from 26th Street to 28th Street Westridge Lane from Parkwoods Road to South End and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the following grading improvement be hereby ordered: P-251 Texas Avenue from Minnetonka Boulevard to 28th Street West 28th Street from Texas Avenue West to Great Northern Railroad R/W said water main extensions and grading shall be done in accordance with plans and specifications prepared by the Village Engineer which are hereby approved, and advertisement for bids for same be hereby approved as heretofore advertised by 'the Clerk. Ced'arwood Plat Approved On motion of Trustee Jorvig, seconded b'y Trustee Bolmgren, the plat of Ced'arwood Addition presented by Richard A. Thomson and Evelyn V. Thomson was accepted, and the Mayor and Clerk were authorized to sign the plat upon receiv- ing'approval of Village Attorney and Village tngineer. Motion was passed by unanimous vote of Council Members present. Permission to Place Buried Cable, Poles and Anchors On motion of Trustee Bolmgren, seconded' by Trustee Jorvig, the Northwestern Bell Telephone Company was granted permission to place one pole and three anchors at Nest 35th Street, Pennsylvania Avenue and Rhode Island Avenue; place buried cable in Huntington Avenue north of rExcelsior'Boulevard and in West 36th Street west of Huntington Avenue, and'one pole on Ox�ord Street at Utah Avenue, by unani- mous vote of Council Members present. 1 1 October 2, 1950 Permission to Place Poles On motion of Trustee Jorvig, seconded by Trustee Bolmgren, the Northern States Power Company was granted permission to place poles at the following loca- tions, by unanimous vote of Council Members present: 2 poles on West 31st Street from Quebec Avenue to Rhode Island Avenue 2 poles on West 36th Street from Kipling to Lynn Avenue 1 pole on Oxford Street and Zarthan Avenue 4 poles on alley between Oregon and Pennsylvania _ Avenues between West 31st and 32nd Streets Gas Main Extensions On motion of Trustee Jorvig, seconded by Trustee Bolmgren, the following gas main extensions were approved by unanimous vote of Council Members present: In Salem Avenue from Minnetonka Boulevard to State Highway No. 7. In State Highway No. 7 (North Service Road) and Field Lane from Salem Avenue to End 'of Street In Rhode Island Avenue from 1801 N. N. License On motion of Trustee Jorvig, seconded by Trustee Bolmgren, the application of Nodell Electric Company, 3746 Bloomington Avenue, Minneapolis for a 1950 license to do electrical work in St. Louis Park was approved, and the Mayor and Clerk are hereby authorized to issue license to expire December 31, 1950) by unanimous vote of the Council. -Petitions for Street Improvements On motion of Trustee Bolmgren, seconded by Trustee Jorvig, the following petitions were referred to the Village 2ngineer and Chairman of the Street Depart- ment Committee for checking and recommendation, by unanimous vote of Council, Members present: P-668 PETITION FOR SIDEWALK, signed by Harold W. Emerson, 2640 Idaho Avenue and others, dated September 29, 1950, for the construction of sidewalk on the WEST SIDE OF IDAHO AVENUE FROM 26TH STREET TO 27TH STREET. Y. as surety, dated September 26th, 1950, in the amount of $23,717.09, covering the construction of sewers in the Oak Hill District Storm Sewer. Fire Hose Bids Rejected On motion of Trustee Jorvig, seconded by Trustee Bolmgren, all bids received August 21, 1950 were rejected, and the Treasurer was instructed to return bid checks to their respective bidders, by unanimous vote of Council Mem- bers present. Report on Walk on Lynn from 28th N. of Bog The Village Engineer's report on the request of Mrs. Alberts, 2721 Lynn Avenue for the construction of sidewalk on Lynn Avenue from 28th Street nprth across the bog was read as follows: "Please be advised that the Street Commissioner and I inspected the -conditions and decided the best procedure is to start filling immediately with dirt which is available in the neighborhood. We will give it a coat of gravel*an d a shot of tar'to hold it through the winter. Next summer we can continue to fill to bring it up'to a higher level and give it another shot of tar before school opens in the fall. Work is already under way on this project." The Village Clerk was to so inform Mrs. Alberts. Acceptance of Gas Ordinance A resolution accepting Ordinance No. 370, entitled AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AN ORDINANCE GRANTING TO MINNEAPOLIS GAS LIGHT COMPANY, ITS SUCCESSORS AND_ ASSIGNS, THE RIGHT TO MANUFACTURE, IMPORT, TRANSPORT, SELL, AND DISTRIBUTE GAS FOR HEATING, ILLUMINATING AND OTHER PURPOSES IN THE VILLAGE OF ST.
