SPECIAL MEETING OCTOBER 26, 1949
A special meeting of the Village Council was called to order by President
Erickson at 7 P. M., pursuant to notice by Clerk Justad to all Council Members.
The following Councilmen were present at roll call:
Trustee Perkins
Trustee Jorvig
Clerk Justad -
Mayor Erickson
Permit to Remove Black Dirt
The matter of a permit for the Park Construction Company to excavate black
dirt and remove same from the West 2 of Block "A", Minikanda Vista Second Addn. III
was discussed with Sheldon Carlson of the Park_Construction Company.
On motion of Trustee Perkins, seconded by Trustee Jorvig, permission was
granted to the Park Construction Company to excavate and remove black dirt to a
depth of approximately thre feet from their own property (West i of Block "A",
Minikanda Vista Second Addition) upon receipt from said Park Construction Company
of a bond in the amount of $1,000.00 for the refilling of same location after
black dirt has been removed. Motion was passed by unanimous vote of the Council
Members present.
Bid Awarded - Two 2-Ton Dump Trucks
The report and tabulation of bids received October 24, 1949 for the furnishing
of two 2-ton dump trucks for the Street Department prepared by the Street Commission-
er was read and his recommendation to purchase said trucks from Boyer-Gilfillan
Company.
On motion of Trustee Perkins, seconded by Trustee Jorvig, the bid of Boyer-
Gilfillan Company of Minneapolis received October 24, 1949 for the furnishing of
two 2-ton dump trucks as per specifications was deemed to be the lowest bid of a
responsible bidder, and the Clerk was authorized to issue a purchase order for the
two dump trucks to Boyer-Gilfillan Company in the amount bid --- $5,420.30
(without tax) less allowance on 1946 Ford Dump truck, or $3,647.50 net. Motion
was passed by unanimous vote of Council Members present. .

Advertise for Sewer Bids Storm Sewer District #13-B
. On motion of Trustee Perkins, seconded by Trustee Jorvig, the Village
Clerk was instructed to advertise for bids for laying storm sewer in 28th Street
from Webster to Xenwood Avenues according to specifications on file in the Village
Engineers Office - bids to be opened November 14, 1949.
Meeting Adjourned
. The meeting was adjourned by Mayor Erickson at 8:00 P. M.

Verified Claims
On motion of Trustee Perkins, seconded by Trustee Bolmgren, the following
verified claims were approved, and the Mayor and Clerk are hereby authorized to
issue warrants covering same, by unanimous vote of Council Members present by roll
call as follows: Trustee Bolmgren, yea; Trustee Jorvig, yea; Trustee Perkins, yea;
Clerk Justad, yea; President Erickson, yea:
