Resolution - Vacating Alley, Cont'd.
on the line of alley adjacent to Lots 26-28 and 32-37, Block 174, Rearrange-
ment of St. Louis Park, requesting vacation of portion of alley in said block
adjacent to said lots has been duly filed with the Village Clerk and said
Council has met at the time and place specified in a notice embracing a copy
of said petition duly published and posted and has heard all interested persons
and it appears in the interest of the public that the portion of the alley
in said block hereinafter described be vacated; therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the Village Council of the Village of St. Louis Park .
that that portion of alley in Block 174, Rearrangement of St. Louis Park adjacent
to Lots 26-28 and 32-37, inclusive, and Easterly of a line drawn parallel to
and_15' Southeasterly from the Northwesterly line of said Lot 26 if said line
were produced across said alley to the North line of Lot 37 as the said alley
is now dedicated and laid out within the corporate limits of the Village be u
hereby vacated.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that quit claim deed of Harold V. and Bernice F.
Kindseth and William J. and Katherine S. Geimer dedicating to the Village for
a public alley 15 feet along the West side of Lot 26, Block 174, Rearrangement
of' St. Louis Park be hereby accepted. _
Minutes
The minutes of meetings held April 26, 1948 and May 3, 1948 were read
and approved as read.
Office Supplies & Equipment for Planning Commission
On motion of Trustee Jorvig, seconded by Trustee Perkins, the Village
Clerk was authorized to purchase One (1) two-door, counter height, three-shelf
steel cabinet for the Planning Commission; also a supply of suitable stationery.
Motion was passed by unanimous vote of Council Members present.
Survey for improvement of Intersection
Minnetonka Boulevard & Lake St.
On motion of Trustee Perkins, seconded by Clerk Justad, the Village
Engineer was instructed to make a survey for the purpose of determining the right
of way, and cost of improving the intersection at Minnetonka Boulevard and West
Lake Street, according to plans on file in the County Highway Engineer's
office. Motion was passed by unanimous vote of Council Members present.
Meeting Adjourned
The meeting was adjourned by President Erickson at 11:45 P. M.

Bids - Painting Steel Water Tank
Bids were received and read from the following bidders, for the painting
of elevated steel water tank, riser pipe, tower columns, struts and braces, as `-'
advertised in the St. Louis Park Dispatch:

On motion of Trustee Perkins, seconded by Trustee Jorvig, the above bids
were referred to the Village Engineer and Chairman of the Water Department
Committee for checking and recommendation, by,unanimous vote of Council Members
present.
Bids - Sewer Construction
• Bids were received and read from the following bidders, for the construc-
tion of a District Sanitary Sewer in Excelsior Boulevard from Wooddale Avenue
to.Webster Avenue, as advertised in the St. Lquis Park Dispatch:

On motion of Trustee Perkins, seconded by Trustee Jorvig, the above bid
was referred to the Village Engineer and Chairman of the Sewer Department Com-
mittee for checking and recommendation, by unanimous vote of Council Members
present.

Sealed bids were received and read from,the following bidders, for Swings,
Teeters, Jungle Gyms and Slides, as advertised in the St. Louis Park Dispatch:

On motion of Trustee Jorvig, seconded by Trustee Perkins, the above bids

Request for Building Permit-Two-family Dwelling
A request was received from Mrs. Harry Semingson, 3048 Maryland Avenue, for
permit to remodel her ,home at same address to accommodate two families.

was set as date of hearing on the request of Mrs. Harry Semingson for a special
permit to remodel her home at 3048 Maryland Avenue to accommodate two families,
by unanimous vote of Council Members Present.
Request for Grading Alley - Block 21, Park Manor
A group of residents from Block 21, Park Manor Addition appeared in regard
to grading of alley. It was their desire to have the work done. Trustee Perkins
said that a recommendation for bids would be made this evening.
Application for Taxicab License
On motion of Trustee Perkins, seconded by Trustee Jorvig, the application
( a of Alfred W. Hay, DBA St. Louis Park Radio Cab was referred to the Police Com-
mittee Chairman, for checking and recommendation, by unanimous vote of Council
Members present.-

On motion of Trustee Perkins, seconded by Trustee Jorvig, the request of
the Minneapolis Gas Light Company for permission to install a 3" gas main in
Kipling Avenue from 210 feet North of North line of West 27th Street to Lot 15
and South 30' , Lot 16; Block 5, Thorpe Brothers Cedar Lake Heights Addition,
was approved by unanimous vote of Council Members present.
Request for Permit - Double Bungalow
A request from Sigurd A. Johnson, dated May 17, 1948, for a building
permit for the erection of a double bungalow on Lot 12, Block 1, Minikanda Vista
2nd Addition, was read.
Hearing Date - Double Bungalow
On motion of Trustee Perkins, seconded by Trustee Jorvig, June 1, 1948
was set as date of hearing on the request of Sigurd A. Johnson for a special
permit to construct a double bungalow on Lot 12, Block 1, Minikanda Vista 2nd
Addition, by unanimous vote of Council Members present.
Petition to Vacate Street
On motion of Trustee Perkins, seconded by Trustee Jorvig, the petition
signed by L. V. Feldman, 4201 Cedar Lake Road, and others, dated May 12, 1948,
for the vacation of street abutting Lot 1, Block 3; Lot 4, Block 4; and Lot 5,
Block 4, Forest Tract, Lake Forest Addition, was referred to the Planning Com-
mission for checking and recommendation, by unanimous vote of Council Members
present.
Petition - Grading Alley P-181
On motion of Trustee •Perkins, seconded by Trustee Jorvig, the petition
signed by Robert T. Dacy, 3278 Louisiana Avenue and others, dated May 2, 1948,
for grading alley in Block 205, Rearrangement of St. Louis Park was referred to
the Village Engineer and Street Department Committee Chairman, for checking and
recommendation, by unanimous vote of Council Members present.
Petition - Penetration Tar P-187
On motion of Trustee Perkins, seconded by Trustee Jorvig, the _petition
signed by Thomas W. Long, 2725 Georgia Avenue, and others, dated May 17, 1948,
for application of penetration tar on Georgia Avenue from 27th Street to 28th
Street, was referred to the Village Engineer and Chairman of the Street Depart-
ment Committee, for checking and recommendation, by unanimous vote of Council
Members present.
Petition - Sidewalk P-188
On motion of Trustee Perkins, seconded by Trustee Jorvig, the petition
signed by Sidney S. Scherling, 3333 Alabama Avenue and others, dated March 26,
1947; for the construction of sidewalk in front of 3329 and 3333 Alabama Avenue,
was referred to the' Village Engineer and Chairman of the Street Department Com-
mittee -for checking and recommendation, by unanimous vote of Council Members
present.
Petition - Sanitary Sewer P-185
On motion of Trustee Perkins, seconded by Trustee Jorvig, the petition
signed by Mr. and Mrs. Carl Mortenson, 4205 Webster Avenue and others, dated
April 9, 1948, for the construction of sanitary sewer in Webster Avenue from
42nd Street to Vermont Street, was referred to the Village Engineer and Sewer
Department Committee Chairman for checking and recommendation, by unanimous vote
of Council Members present.

On motion of Trustee Perkins, seconded by Trustee Jorvig, the following
applications for 1948 licenses were approved, and the President and Clerk were

Ordinance
On motion of Trustee Perkins, seconded by Trustee Jorvig, the following
ordinance was adopted by unanimous vote of Council Members present:
ORDINANCE NO. 300
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 299, REGULATING
PARKING OF VEHICLES
The Village Council of the Village of St. Louis Park do ordain as follows:
Section 1. Ordinance No. 299 of the Village of St. Louis Park entitled
"An Ordinance Regulating Parking of Vehicles on the Public Streets and Places
of the Village of St. Louis Park" adopted by the Village Council May 3, 1948 is
hereby amended by adding thereto,the following section:
"Section 16. Any person who shall violate any provision of this ordinance
shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be punished
by a fine of not more than $100 or by imprisonment not to exceed 90 days.
