On motion of Trustee Bolmgren, seconded by Clerk Justad, the President and Clerk were authorized to enter into an agreement for the Village with'the Commissioner of Highways of the State of Minnesota which has been submitted to the. Council for the installation of semi-actuated traffic control signals at the. intersection of Trunk Highway No. 7, with Quebec Avenue; and at the inter- section of Trunk Highway Nos. 100 and 169 with 41st Street. Motion was passed by unanimous vote of Council Members present. Tentative Plat of Tuxedo Park On the recommendation of the Planning Commission, it was moved by Trustee Bolmgren, seconded by Clerk Justad, that the tentative plat of Tuxedo Park was approved and applicant, P. H. Anderes was instructed to present a completed • plat with the name of 'Tuxedo Parkway' street be changed to'Monterey Parkway', for, final action by the Council, and final allocation of unpaid installments ' of ,special assessments for Joint District Sanitary Sewer No. 1. Motion was passed by unanimous vote of Council Members present. Building Permit - Light Industrial Building ' . On motion of Trustee Bolmgren, seconded by Clerk Justad, the Building Inspector was authorized to issue a building permit to T. J. Arneson of the Professional Instrument Company for the erection of a light industrial building on Lots 39, 40 and 41, Block 175, Rearrangement of St. Louis Park, subject to a 20 foot setback on West Lake Street and 10 feet on Brownlow Avenue as recom- mended by the Planning Commission. Motion •was passed'by unanimous vote of the Council Members present. Resolution • On motion of Trustee Bolmgren, seconded by Clerk Justad, the following • resolution was adopted by unanimous vote of :all members of the Council present: RESOLUTION FOR CONDEMNATION'OF LAND FOR PUBLIC WATER SUPPLY SYSTEM.PURPOSES III WHEREAS, the Village has previously acquired all of Block 18, The Bronx, excepting lots fronting on Minnetonka Boulevard and Lot 28 in said block for the purposes of its public water supply system and has constructed thereon two pump houses, three wells, and a reservoir, and the Village Council deems it necessary in the public interest and for the protection of the water supply facilities in said block that the Village acquire said Lot 28, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED by the Village Council of the Village of St. Louis Park that it hereby acquire and take said Lot 28, Block 18, The Bronx, for public water supply system purposes, and the Village Attorney be hereby directed to file petition in the District Court of Hennepin County for taking same as- author- ized by law. d �" December 6, 1948 4( Estimates Approved On motion of Trustee Holmgren, seconded by Clerk Justad, the following estimates of contract work in progress as presented by Village Engineer, J. No license shall be issued for keeping, maintaining, conducting or operating an open-air moving picture theater where facilities are provided for patrons to park automobiles and to view moving pictures from their respective automobiles, commonly known as "a drive-in theater," and no person, firm • or corporation shall keep, maintain, conduct oroperate such a theater within the corporate limits of the Village of St. Louis Park. M. to 2 P. M. and 2 P. M. to ' 9 P. M. with two men on each shift at a wage of $1.25 per hour; and the follow- ing men were approved as temporary employees for'this project: John J. Conners, 3016 Yosemite Avenue Tom Duffy, 2301 Westridge Lane Douglas Sewall, 5912 Cambridge Street Harry Semingson, 3048 Maryland Avenue Motion was passed by unanimous vote of Council Members present. Resolution On motion of Trustee Bolmgren, seconded by'Clerk Justad, the following resolution was adopted by unanimous vote of Council Member's present: RESOLVED, that the Board of County Commissioners of Hennepin County be hereby requested to improve Block 5, Brookside Second Addition by dredging the area so as to provide a bathing beach and park facilities for the many residents of rural Hennepin County, this being one of the most heavily settled sections of rural Hennepin County, and one which no Lake improvements have ever been made.
