by Mr. Ronning in center of driveway leading into Mr. Douthitt's garage. Presi-

dent Erickson agreed that a survey would be made this week and a report ready
for Monday, June 16, 1947.
Petition Opposing SS #6 17
A petition dated June 9, 1947, signRd by Cecil R. Malmgren and others,
opposing construction of Storm Sewer #1.0-has presented and discussed with Rev.
Lyle Halvorsen, Irving P. Nelson and Ellis Thompson. They were asked to wait
until the bids are opened on June 16th and tabulation made June 23rd, 1947 be-
fore action is taken on their petition.
Building Permit - Clyde" Munson
A letter from Clyde Munson, dated June 9, 1947, relative to building on
Lot 110, Norwaldo was read and referred to the Building Inspector for a report
as to side yards, etc.
Hawker's License Approved
On motion of Trustee Perkins, seconded by Clerk Justad, the application
of Ray W. Olson for a Hawker's License was approved, and President and Clerk
were directed to issue license to expire December 31, 1947, by unanimous vote
of Councilmen present, subject to approval of references given.
Sanitary Sewer Assessment
On motion of Trustee Perkins, seconded by Clerk Justad, the Village
Engineer was instructed to write a letter to School Board explaining proposed
Sanitary Sewer assessment on West 35th Street from Wooddale to Dakota Avenues.
Motion was passed by unanimous vote of Councilmen present.
Study• for Fire Zones
On motion of Clerk Justad, seconded by Trustee Perkins, the Fire Chief
was instructed to make a study of setting up fire zones in the Village which
controls the kind of material used in building construction, by unanimous vote
of Councilmen present.
Justice of Peace Bond
On motion of Trustee Perkins, seconded by Clerk Justad, the official
Justice of Peace bond of N. W. Joubert, appointed to office June 5, 1947, was
approved and the President and Clerk were authorized to sign the approval
clause in the name of the Village. Motion was passed by unanimous vote of
Councilmen present.
Resolution
On motion of Trustee Perkins, seconded by Clerk Justad, the following
resolution was adopted by unanimous vote of Councilmen present:
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING SALE OF
CERTIFICATES HELD FOR THE CREDIT AF
VILLAGE
• RESOLVED by the Village Council of the Village of St. Louis Park that the
Northwestern National Bank of Minneapolis be hereby directed to sell $100,000.00
principal amount, 7/60 U. S. Treasury Certificates, dated November 11, 1947 now
held by the Bank under Agency Account for the Village, and to deposit the proceeds
received from said Certificates to the credit of the Village.
Grading Bid Awarded
• Village Engineer, J. C. Utton presented a tabulation of bids for grading
received June 2, 1947 with recommendation that the contract be awarded to Groves-
Skelton, the lowest bidder.
- On motion of Trustee Perkins, seconded by Clerk' Justad, the bid of Groves-
Skelton Company of $16,305.60 for grading, as per bids received June 2, 1947 was
deemed the lowest bid of a responsible bidder, and the President and Clerk were
authorized to enter into a contract with them in the name of the Village for
the- work to- be done. Motion was passed by unanimous vote of Councilmen present.
License -- Riding Academy
• On motion of Trustee Perkins, seconded by Clerk Justad, the application
of Ed Soboleski and Victor P. Soboleski, DBA V and E Riding Stables was approved
and- the President and Clerk were authorized- to issue license to them to operate
a riding academy to expire December 31, 1947, by unanimous vote of Councilmen

Permission to Place Pole
On motion of Clerk Justad, seconded by Trustee Perkins, the application
of the Northwestern Bell Telephone Company for permission to place one pole in
the alley between Jersey Avenue and Idaho Avenue just South of Minnetonka Blvd.
was approved by unanimous vote of Councilmen present.

On motion of Trustee Perkins, seconded by Clerk Justad, the following
applications for 1947 licenses were approved, and the President and Clerk were
authorized to issue licenses to expire December 31, 1947, by unanimous vote of

Place Property in Auditors Subdivision
On motion of Trustee Perkins, seconded by Clerk Justad, the Clerk was in-
structed to request the County Auditor to place the following described property
in Auditors Subdivisions:
(1) All of the Robinson & Gregory Subdivision
(2) Government Lot 6 in Section 9, Township #117,
Range 21 except platted property
(3) All that part of the Southwest quarter (SW4)
Section 31, Township 29, Range 24, lying West
• of State Highway #100.
Motion was passed by unanimous vote of Councilmen present.
License Bonds - Heating
- On motion of Trustee Perkins, seconded by Clerk Justad, the following
heating license bonds were approved by unanimous vote of Council:

mous vote of Councilmen present. -

Hearing on Twe Family Dwelling
• A hearing was had on the petition of Henry Nystrom for construction of
two-family dwelling. No one appeared. It was generally understood that Mr.
Nystrom had given up the idea of building on this spot. No action taken.
