HomeMy WebLinkAbout1947/02/03 - ADMIN - Minutes - City Council - Regular 330 January 27, 1947 • BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a special assessment fund is hereby created for these improvements and the proceeds from the sale of the certificates herein authorized shall be placed in such fund. Into such fund shall be placed all moneys received from the payment of any assessment levied on accountnof this fund. A sufficient amount of moneys to provide for the payment of the principal and interest of said certificates as they severally mature shall be without further authority transferred by the Village Treasurer into such fund from the general fund when the special assessment fund is insufficient to pay the principal and interest of said certificates as they severally mature, but the fund from which said moneys have been taken or used for the -payment of the principal or interest shall be reimbursed with interest at 6% per •annum from the collection of unpaid assessments on account of such improvements.. • Justice of the Peace Return of Fines H. Fairbanks-Morse & Company 16.970.00 • On motion of Trustee Bolmgren, seconded by Trustee Perkins, the above bids were referred to the Village Engineer and Water Department Committee for tabu- lation and recommendation, by unanimous vote of Councilmen present. . Permission to Place Pole On motion of Trustee Bolmgren, seconded by Clerk Justad, the application of the Northwestern Bell Telephone Company for permission to place one (1) pole in alley South of Minnetonka Boulevard between Idaho Avenue and Jersey Avenue was approved by unanimous vote of Councilmen present. Permismion to Place Pole On motion of Clerk Justad, seconded by Trustee Bolmgren, the Northern States Power Company's request for permission to place one (1) pole at Glen- hurst Avenue and Highwood Road was approved by unanimous vote of Councilmen present. Hearing Date Set - Double Bungalows On motion of Clerk Justad, seconded by Trustee Bolmgren, a hearing was set for February 24, 1947 on the petition of A. W. Lampe for special permit to build two double bungalows on the West one hundred and twenty-fight feet of Lot B, Brooklawns. Bingo A request made by the Chaplets, a relifious society composed of members of the Most Holy Trinity Church of St. Louis Park for permission to play Bingo at a party to be held at the American Legion Hall, February 13, 1947. No action taken. Airplane Noise A letter dated January 26, 1947 from F. Enerson, ,4245 Wooddale Avenue, regarding the noise of airplanes was read to the Council and the Clerk was asked to mail copy of the letter to the State Aeronautics Department and reply to Mr. Enerson's letter, quoting from Village Attorney, E. T. Montgomery's opinion on same. Petition - Rezoning A petition signed by Crossroads Development Company, dated February 3, 1947 was read for the rezoning the East 1/8 of the Northwest Quarter of the Northwest 3 3 1 February 3, 1947 Petition for Rezoning, Continued: Quarter, and that part of the Northeast Quarter of the Northwest Quarter lying West of a line parallel with and distant two-hundred fifty feet East from the West line of the East Eighth of the Northwest quarter of the Northwest Quarter, except road; Section 6, Township 28, Range 24, containing 6.86 acres, except the North One Hundred Fifty feet thereof, from Residential to Commercial. The petition was referred to the Planning Commission for checking and recommenda- tion. Petition - Rezoning A petition signed by E. A. Enderle, Co-partners, DBA Gopher Sheet Metal Company as principal and National Surety Company of New York as Surety, in the amount of $1,000.00, dated January 13, 1947, was approved by unanimous vote of Councilmen present. Ordinance On motion of Clerk Justad, seconded by Trustee Bolmgren, the following Ordinance was passed by unanimous vote of Councilmen present. ORDINANCE NO. 258 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 236 CREATING STORM SEWER DISTRICT NO. 13 The Village Council of the Village of St. Louis Park do ordain as follows: Section 1. Ordinance No. 236 entitled "An Ordinance Creating Storm Sewer District No. 13" adopted by the Village Council, April 1, 1946, is hereby amended with respect to the following portions of the description therein of the boundaries of said Storm Sewer District No. 13: "Thence West along the North line of said Lot 22 to a point 150 feet East and 350 feet South of the Northeast corner of Robinson & Gregory's Subdivision of Government Lot 3; thence South parallel to the East line of Lots 3 and 5, said Robinson & Gregory's Subdivision to the Northwest corner of that certain tract of land described as follows:" Which portion of said description is hereby amended to read as follows: "Thence West along the North line of said Lot 22 to a point 150 feet West and 350 feet South of the Northeasticorner of Robinson. & Gregory's Subdivision of Government Lot 3; thence South parallel to the East line of Lots 3 and 5, said Robin- son & Gregory's Subdivision to the Northeast corner of that certain tract of land described as:" Petition for Rezoning On motion. of Clerk Justad, seconded by Trustee Bolmgren, the application of E. Chlorinator Purchase Authorized On motion of Trustee Bolmgren, seconded by Clerk .Justad, the Council de - Ill - termines to excercise its option under the agreement, dated April 22, 1946,. with Wallace & Tiernan Company, Incorporated for the purchaselof a chlorinator, and that the balance of the moneys due in the amount of $1,025.50 for this equipment be paid in full. Motion was passed by unanimous vote of Councilmen present. Land for Well #6 • - On motion of Trustee Bolmgren, seconded by Clerk Justad the Village Attorney was authorized to start proceedings to purchase land for Well #6 as follows: "All of Lot 5 and the West 140 feet of the East 280 feet of Lot 4, all in Block 7, Brookside Addition." Motion was passed by unanimous vote of Council- men present. Hearing Date Set On motion of Trustee Bolmgren, seconded by Trustee Jorvig, a hearing was set for February 24, 1947 on the request of E. L. Fitch for a permit to convert his present residence at 5700 West Lake Street to a two-family dwelling, by unanimous vote of Councilmen present.
