M., with the following Councilmen present at roll call: Trustee Bolmgren Trustee Jorvig Trustee Perkins Clerk Justad President Erickson Verified Claims On motion of Trustee Perkins, seconded by Trustee Bolmgren, the following verified claims were approved, and the President and Clerk were authorized to issue warrants for same, by the following roll call vote: Trustee Bolmgren, Yea; Trustee Jorvig, Yea; Trustee Perkins, Yea; Clerk Justad, Yea; President Erickson, Yea. It It 28.68 Williams Hardware 10.52 ►' " 6.84 Deed Accepted for Highway Purposes On motion of Trustee Jorvig, seconded by Trustee Bolmgren, the following deed was accepted by unanimous vote of all members of the Council except Trustee Perkins (not voting), and ordered recorded - deed dated December 29, 1947 from Richard J. Westling_and Marlys J. Westling: "All that part of the' Southwest Quarter (SW ) of Southeast Quarter (SEt) of Section Seven.(7), Township One Hundred Seventeen (117), Range Twenty- one (21) described as follows: Beginning at a point in the South line of said Quarter Quarter, One Hundred Seventy-five (175' ) Feet East of the Southwest corner thereof; thence North parallel with the West line of said Quarter Quarter Three Hundred Fifty (350' ) Feet; thence East parallel with the South line of said Quarter Quarter Sixty (60') Feet; thence South parallel with the West line of said Quarter Quarter Three Hundred Fifty (350' ) Feet to the South line of said Quarter Quarter; thence West along said South line Sixty (60' ) Feet to point of beginning, except County Highway (Boone Avenue)", according to the duly recorded plat thereof, for Highway purposes. Stevenson DBA M. & S. Heating Company as principal, and United States Fidelity and Guaranty Company as surety, dated November 25, 1947, in the amount of $1,000.00. HEATING BOND, with Northwestern-Hanna Fuel Company as principal, and United States Fidelity and Guaranty Company as surety, dated January 30, 1948; in the amount of $1,000.00. PLUMBING BOND, with Earl Lawrence Blaylock, DBA Blaylock Plumbing Company as principal, and The Aetna Casualty and Surety Company as surety, dated November 15, 1947, in the amount of $4,000.00. Time Extended for Moving Garage On motion of Trustee Perkins, seconded by Trustee Bolmgren, the President and Clerk were authorized to execute a stipulation to be prepared by the Vil- lage Attorney, extending the time for moving garage from 1850 Maryland, from January 1, 1948 to April 1, 1948 (Lindahl), by unanimous vote of the Council. Skating Rinks - Park Superintendent Mr. Keller and Mr. Menzel of the Park Board reported that skating rinks were not in good condition, and made some recommendations that should be carried out to put the rinks in shape. It was suggested that Kenneth Johnson act as Park Superintendent, and the Park Board deal directly with him - the appoint- ment to be made the first of the year. Offer of Lot for Parks not Accepted Mr. Keller of the Park Board reported that the North 86.9 feet of Lot 33, Block 7, Browndale, owned by Dan°Whalen, would be too small for Park use, and recommended that same not be accepted. Lights Ordered for Hockey Rink On motion of Trustee Jorvig, seconded by Trustee Perkins, the Clerk was instructed to order the Northern States Power Company to place 2 poles at the hockey rink located between 33rd and 34th Streets and Dakota Avenue, by unani- mous vote of the Council. Hearing - Rezoning A hearing was had on the petition of Lars N. Hjelvik for rezoning Lots 9 and 10, Block 14, St. Louis Park, from "C" Density to "D" Density. Mr. Whipps, 3455 Alabama Avenue appeared in opposition, .stating that ,there would be too many cars and too much parking, and would shut out light. He said that many other neighbors were coming up but didn't know why they didn't show up. After looking over the plans and plat of ground that would be used- for parking, he seemed less critical. Ordinance On motion of Trustee Bolmgren, seconded by Trustee Perkins, the following Ordinance was adopted by unanimous vote of the Council: ORDINANCE NO. 291 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE VILLAGE OF_ST._ LOUIS PARK The Village Council of the Village of St. Louis Park do ordain as follows: Section 1. Section 14 of the Zoning Ordinance of the Village of St. Louis Park adopted January 20, 1932, as heretofore amended, is hereby further amended together with the Density District Map therein referred to, by deleting from that portion of the Village therein zoned "C" Density: Lots Nine (9) and Ten (10), Block Fourteen ' (14), St. Louis Park and said property is hereby included within the portion of the Village zoned "D" Density. Section 2. This Ordinance shall take effect from and after its publication. Meeting Adjourned The meeting was adjourned by President Erickson at 9:55 P.
