HomeMy WebLinkAbout26-106 - ADMIN Resolution - City Council - 2026/07/20Resolution No. 26-106 Approving sale of real property Whereas, the city is the owner of certain real property located south of 2754 Xenwood Avenue South, in the City of St. Louis Park, County of Hennepin, State of Minnesota, and is legally described as follows: Tract D, except the North 10 feet thereof, Registered Land Survey No. 372, Hennepin County, Minnesota. (“property”) Whereas, Christine Glazer (“buyer”) is the owner of that certain real property located at 2754 Xenwood Avenue South, in the City of St. Louis Park, County of Hennepin, State of Minnesota [PID 09-117-21-31-0186], which is adjacent to the property; and Whereas, the city proposes to sell property to the buyer for $15,000.00, and retain a drainage and utility easement over the property as part of the sale; Whereas, the city’s interests would be served with a drainage and utility easement over the property and city fee ownership is not needed; that selling the property is in the best interests of the city; and the city is willing to sell the property pursuant to the terms and conditions of that certain purchase agreement that is presented for city council approval; and Whereas, Minnesota Statutes § 462.356, subd. 2, requires that the planning commission review the city’s proposed sale of real property for compliance with the comprehensive plan and to report to the city council in writing its findings; and Whereas, Minnesota Statutes § 462.356, subd. 2, further provides for an exception from the requirement for review by the planning commission upon 2/3 vote of the city council dispensing with the requirement and finding that the acquisition or disposal of the real property has no relationship to the comprehensive municipal plan. Now therefore be it resolved by the city council of the City of St. Louis Park, Minnesota, that: 1. The conveyance of the property has no relationship to the comprehensive municipal plan and review by the planning commission of the sale of the property is hereby dispensed with. 2. The mayor and city manager are authorized and directed to execute all documents and take all appropriate measures necessary to effectuate the conveyance of the property, including but not limited to the execution of any and all documents necessary to transfer title to the Buyer. 4. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
