HomeMy WebLinkAbout26-069 - ADMIN Resolution - City Council - 2026/05/04 Resolution No. 26-069 Approving sale of real property Whereas, the city has entered into an agreement to acquire real property located in the City of St. Louis Park, County of Hennepin, State of Minnesota, which is legally described as set forth in Exhibit A attached hereto (collectively, the “property”), from the St. Louis Park Economic Development Authority (“authority”); and Whereas, the city staff has negotiated a purchase agreement for the sale of the property to Chinh Van and Thanh Nguyen, (“buyers”); and Whereas, the city has determined that the property is not needed by the city for any public purpose; that selling the property is in the best interests of the city; and is willing to sell the property pursuant to the terms and conditions of the purchase agreement; and Whereas, Minnesota Statutes § 462.356, subd. 2, requires that the planning commission review the city’s proposed sale of real property for compliance with the comprehensive plan and to report to the city council in writing its findings; and Whereas, Minnesota Statutes § 462.356, subd. 2, further provides for an exception from the requirement for review by the planning commission upon 2/3 vote of the city council dispensing with the requirement and finding that the acquisition or disposal of the real property has no relationship to the comprehensive municipal plan, Now therefore be it resolved by the city council of the City of St. Louis Park, Minnesota, that: 1. The conveyance of the property has no relationship to the comprehensive municipal plan and review by the planning commission of the acquisition of the subject property is hereby dispensed with. 2. The purchase agreement is hereby approved. 3. The mayor and city manager are authorized and directed to execute the purchase agreement and any instruments of conveyance necessary to effectuate the conveyance of the property. The city manager is authorized and directed to execute all other documents necessary to effectuate the purchase agreement. 4. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
