HomeMy WebLinkAbout26-042 - ADMIN Resolution - City Council - 2026/03/23 Resolution No. 26-042 Approving donation of excess office supplies to St. Louis Park Emergency Program and Holy Family Academy Be it resolved by the city council of the City of St. Louis Park, Minnesota as follows: Whereas, the City of St. Louis Park is required by city policy to authorize approval of any donations; and Whereas, the City of St. Louis Park adopted a revised Environmentally Preferable Purchasing Policy (EP3) in 2024 that encourages purchasing practices that reduce greenhouse gas emissions, minimize waste, increase energy efficiency, encourage recycled content and conserve water when possible and cost-effective; and Whereas, the Winter Refresh event directed employees to identify excess supplies, reuse supplies internally where possible to prevent unnecessary new purchases, and donate remaining supplies to promote reuse; and Whereas, a total of 184 excess office supply items with a collective value of $3,318.81 were collected; and Whereas, St. Louis Park Emergency Program and Holy Family Academy are interested in receiving 167 of the collected office supply items with an estimated collective value of $1,645.37; and Whereas, Goodwill stores accept office supplies, and donated items help fund services and programs that support job training and independence, Now therefore be it resolved by the city council of the City of St. Louis Park that this donation has been approved.
