Approving grant application for Minnesota Department of Natural Resources
Community Tree Planting grant and accepting grant funds if awarded
Whereas, the City of St. Louis Park on behalf of its parks and recreation department
desires to apply for, and upon grant application acceptance, enter into an agreement with the
Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) to support the removal and replacement of
ash trees impacted by emerald ash borer and additional tree planting.
Be it resolved by the city council (the “city council”) of the City of St. Louis Park, Minnesota (the
“city”) as follows:
1. That the City of St. Louis Park on behalf of its parks and recreation department
apply for a grant and upon acceptance, enter into a grant agreement with the Minnesota
Department of Natural Resources for the Community Tree Planting grant.
2. Mayor Nadia Mohamed and City Manager Kim Keller, or successors, are hereby
authorized to execute such agreements and amendments as are necessary to implement
the project on behalf of the city of St. Louis Park and to be the fiscal agent and administer
the grant.
